Event annual review presentation builder
Your programme owner must present a year of events to the board and wants a clear outline built only from what is on record.
Opens WhatsApp with a draft you can edit before sending. Nothing is sent automatically.
…
The short answer
The builder assembles an annual review outline from the objectives, aggregate outcomes, unresolved actions and actual income and cost figures you enter. Each line shows which input it came from, and a section with no input is left empty rather than filled.
The output is editable Markdown and HTML with a print view. It is not a presentation file, so copy it into your own slide tool if you need slides.
What to enter
- Programme name and review period.
- Objectives: the programme objectives as agreed.
- Aggregate outcomes: measure, result as recorded and where it came from. Leave a result blank if it was not measured.
- Actual commercial figures: income and cost lines in RM, marked as income or cost.
- Unresolved actions: each with an owner role and due date.
How the outline is built
Each section lists your statements in your own words and ends each with a source such as the input row it came from. Commercial totals are added only from amounts you supplied and are marked as calculated.
A result left blank is written as no result recorded. A blank amount is left out of the totals and named, and no net figure is shown when only income or only cost was entered.
What is never added
The builder adds no benchmarks, case descriptions or statistics, and no claims about success. If a section has no input, the outline says no input was supplied for that section.
That keeps the review honest: a board can see which statements are backed by a record and which parts are still gaps.
Using the outline
Check outcomes against the benefit evidence tracker before presenting, and use the decision log for the actions you list. For the commercial lines, the ticket break-even calculator can help you see how income and costs relate.
Edit the Markdown as needed. Use the print view for a paper copy.
Worked example · Fictional example
A fictional annual review
Fictional organisation and figures, to show the outline.
A fictional association enters two objectives, a registered attendance figure of 180 and a second outcome with no result recorded. Income of RM 27,000 and a cost of RM 21,500.50 give a net of RM 5,499.50 from supplied amounts only.
A sponsor receipts line has no amount, so it is named and left out of the totals. Two open actions are listed, one with no owner or date, and the outline says so.
Use this yourself
Annual review outline
Use this skeleton on paper. Write only statements you can point to a record for.
- Programme and period: name, year.
- Objectives: each objective as agreed, one line each.
- Outcomes: measure, result as recorded, where it came from. Write no result recorded where nothing was measured.
- Commercial position: each income and cost line with its actual amount, then the totals from those lines only.
- Unresolved actions: action, owner role, due date.
- Gaps: sections or figures with no input, listed so the board sees them.
Handle it in-house, or bring in help?
Your team can usually handle this when
- The year's facts are on record, the programme has few events and one person can draft the outline.
- The board wants a simple summary without a designed presentation.
Outside planning help earns its fee when
- The facts are spread across several events, owners and suppliers and need to be collected and reconciled.
- The review sits inside a recurring programme and must be prepared on the same schedule each year.
- Unresolved actions need an owner who tracks them into the next programme year.
Want the annual review prepared as part of the programme?
Recurring programme management can gather the year's records, keep the action list current and prepare the review outline for your board, so the document reflects what happened. The content of the review, and what it says about success, stays with your organisation.
Questions organisers ask
Does the tool create a PowerPoint file?
No. It produces an editable Markdown and HTML outline with a print view that you can copy into your own slide tool.
Does it add statistics or examples?
No. Every line comes from your entries and shows its source. Sections with no input are left empty.
What if some amounts are missing?
They are left out of the totals and named. No net figure is shown if only income or only cost was entered.
